Administrative and Program Internship

Exhale is an award-winning, national organization whose mission is to create a social climate where each person’s unique experience with abortion is respected, supported and free from stigma. Through direct services, leadership development and communications, Exhale’s pro-voice movement is transforming public dialogue about abortion.

Position

The Administrative and Program Internship is an opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student to improve their skills around nonprofit administration, office management, and program support. This is a paid, temporary, non-exempt position. The duration of the internship will be 3-6 months beginning in September or October. Candidates must be available to work 10-15 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Process requests for materials and resources
  • Respond to emails sent to Exhale’s general inbox
  • Utilize Salesforce database for data cleanup and organization
  • Assist with social media tracking and evaluation
  • Assist with mailings and communications
  • Work on the production of the annual Talkline report
  • Assist with review and editing of organizational documents and guides
  • Assist with volunteer counselor training logistics
  • Back-up support for staff when out of the office
  • Some light lifting and other tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Promote an atmosphere in keeping with Exhale’s vision, mission, values, and goals
  • Desire to grow professionally and/or personally, especially in the areas of nonprofit administration and program support
  • Experience with office/administrative work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Salesforce or other databases is a plus
  • Interest and/or experience with social media
  • Ability to both follow directions and perform independently
  • Commitment to working as a part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable with learning new technologies
