Martha Cocke says
I didn’t have an abortion because it was illegal. I gave it up for adoption. I had never wanted to have children. I was young and stupid.
Many years later that baby grew up and I lost all my rights to privacy because she has a right to know. She found me. And I got to know her. But I didn’t want to know her so after I answered all of her questions, I broke off all contact. Does this make me the worthless person I feel like?
Parker says
Martha, decisions about pregnancy, parenting, abortion, and adoption are complex and so difficult. You are not a worthless person, you are human and you deserve support. If you want to talk with someone nonjudgmental about your adoption experience, you can call All-Options at 1-888-493-0092 anytime.
Arthur B. Shostak says
I notice no use of such words as – male, men, manhood, and/or masculinity – in the titles of forthcoming conversations across the country. As many as half of the females at an Abortion Clinic are accompanied there by a male (boyfriend, husband, Gay ally, co-worker, relative, etc., etc.) even as most of the anti-choice protestors outside are male. Unless and until the pro-choice movement pays explicit attention to ways of recruiting and holding onto male support it mistakenly foregoes a potential significant source of social, political, and personal support.
