What a challenging time. We wish you and your loved ones health and safety during this global pandemic. These are days of great uncertainty and immense change and transformation. Some of the change is hard and painful, and all of it provides us time to pause and reflect on life and how to live it best in relation to all others across the globe.
We have a few important updates that we’d like to share with you.
As you likely know, we have been in a time of enormous change internally at Exhale. And we now have some updates on next steps for our sustainability.
- We just completed our 4th virtual textline training for peer counselors. Fifteen new individuals from across the country will be joining us in providing support on the textline in June.
- With this new cohort joining us, we will be expanding the hours of the textline beginning in June:
Sundays 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. EST / 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. PST
Monday – Thursday 6 p.m. – 12 a.m. EST / 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. PST
- As of June 1st, we are transitioning our talkline program to Connect & Breathe. We are thrilled for the resource of the talkline to be in such capable hands. This is a significant change for our programming and it comes with a mix of emotions for all of us. This is the best decision we could make in light of our capacity and our deep belief in the need for post-abortion support line.
- We are excited to announce an Exhale virtual retreat happening November 6th-8th featuring many of the healing practitioners featured on our Facebook Live series. The retreat grew out of the desire to create a space for care and compassion around intersecting realities which we often hear on our talk and textlines including domestic violence, sexual assault, and the lack of faith/spiritual support. Stay tuned for more information on the retreat real soon.
Lastly, Susan Chorley will be transitioning out of the Executive Director role and onto the Exhale board on June 1st. This will move us to a fully volunteer model and enable the resource of Exhale to continue at least until the end of 2020.
If you would like to learn more about any of these announcements, feel free to email us at email@example.com. And if you would like to make a donation to support Exhale’s ongoing post-abortion support space virtually and via text, you are warmly welcome to do so.
